5. Highways

a) Response from email sent to Powys Highways - Thank you for your email regarding the current issues highlighted by Llanigon Community Council. I inspected the U0128 Brynglessey road yesterday which has significant edge damage due to the volume of water being dishcharged onto the carriageway from the recent inclement weather events throughout the autumn. I have measured up two sections of carriageway for resurfacing/overlay and have added them to next years Capital scheme list. The potholes were filled along this road back in October and carrying out more reactive work now will not solve the issue as another weather event will just wash the tarmac straight out. The gullies along the C0075 between Llanigon and Velindre were emptied back in August but have since filled with debris from recent flooding events and I shall raise an order for our gully emptying team to address this issue. Regarding the tree canopy issues along the Capel y Fin road I shall have to carry out some investigations to find out the adjacent landowners and send them the relevant tree/vegetation cutting notices. I hope this reply addresses the Community Councils concerns.
