Community Meeting Minutes - 28th November 2019

1. Minutes of last meeting held on Thursday 24th October 2019 were confirmed as correct & signed

2. Matters Arising – Ty-Golchi hedge had been trimmed but Councillors thought not satisfactory

3. Correspondence

a) Powys CC – Powys Schools Vision 2019- Town and Community Council Engagement Sessions to be held on Fri 13th Dec 2-3.30pm and Tues 17th December 7-8.30pm in County Hall Llandrindod

b) Cllr. Isobelle Keith -Hay Town Council –Sustainable Transport-requesting support to getting settlement status for Hay enabling them to apply for Active Travel Funding-

Councillors agreed to support this proposal

4a Planning Applications

19/18015/FUL – Application to replace an existing 3 bedroom single storey dwelling with a 3 bedroom 2 storey dwelling house using Low or Zero Carbon Design and Technologies at Lower Bungalow Capel-y-ffin for Mr R Hughes – No Objections

4b Planning Granted

19/17795/FUL– Extension and alterations to Maes-y-Garn Cottage Fforddlas for Mrs C James

5. Highways

a) Standing water, pot holes and blocked drains on all Llanigon Parish Roads were discussed

b) Standing water on road near Llwynberried crossroads

c) Brynglessey Road – pot holes, deep gutters and HGV’s using this road and getting stuck, sign requested- Not Suitable for HGV’s

d) Hay Festival Site Side-Entrance still an issue, edge of road and pot holes and dropped drains

e) Trees in School grounds need trimming back, overhanging Llanthomas Farm Drive

f) Overhanging trees on Cocket Pitch road

6 Finance

a) Annual Precept 2020/21 was discussed and set at £5000

b) Bank Forms signed for Online Banking

c) Lisa Howard, Hay Swimming Pool – Thank you for donation

7. Items for Discussion

a) Llanigon School Site update – Nothing to report

b) Seniors Xmas Meal booked for Wednesday 18th December 2019 at 6pm- invites sent out,

John Price asked to attend to show local films, waitresses asked.

Any other Business Chair/Vice-Chair thinks needs urgent attention – None
